Shop

Some people are finding the shop a bit confusing and no amount of redesign seems to help the issue. This seems to be intrinsic to Squarespace and there’s not much I can do to fix it, other than try to explain

Whenever you add anything to your basket, a new basket icon will appear in the top left corner, just below the navigation bar. If you can’t see it, scroll up to the top of the page. This will indicate how many items are currently in your basket.

If you click on it, you can cancel items, adjust amounts and go to the checkout stage to pay for your goods.

And the checkout looks like this. It’s where you put in your details for payment and shipping and is handled securely through Squarespace. There should be a little padlock or something similar in your address bar to indicate this part of the site is fully secured.

At the moment, all payments are taken through PayPal. I know some people have issues with that company, but for the volume of sales I have, it doesn’t make sense to set up a merchant account or similar.

If you’re still having problems, please do drop me a line at tomalexander@mailbox.org and I’ll be happy to conduct the transaction person-to-person.

Mailing List

Yes, it’s free. It may not always be so, but if anything changes then I will let you know. If you move, please do tell me so I’m not sending out stuff to the wrong address. I appreciate that it’s probably not as important as your home contents insurance or your children’s school, but you’ll save me some postage and I will think of you kindly.

Also, you can cancel whenever you want. Again, an email is probably the best way.

What happened to the blog/Underground Biography/other stuff?

Things come and go depending on how I’m feeling about past work. I still don’t know quite what to do with this website and that perennial ‘not quite there’ feeling means contents are subject to change. Enjoy it (or not) while it lasts (or doesn’t).
